City Cluster
A major goal of the Special Olympics movement is to create a broader awareness and perception for the performance of our athletes and for inclusion in general.
To achieve this, we especially want to use the popular and much visited city center of Berlin for our events.

Straße des 17. Juni
The Straße des 17. Juni (street of 17 June) begins in the district Tiergarten in front of the Brandenburg Gate and ends in the district of Charlottenburg.
The street's name commemorates the East German uprising of 1953. While today its name represents a struggle for freedom, the street was widened into a prestigious parade street to provide space for large military marches during the Nazi regime.
Nowadays, the street which runs through Großer Tiergarten, serves completely different purposes: as the site of Berlin's legendary Love Parade, as a fan mile for major sporting events, and for New Year's Eve celebrations. Today it is a place of joy.
