Accessibility
All people should be able to participate in the World Games.
That is why we have various offers on accessibility.
These are our offers:
1. Audio Description
We offer audio description.
Audio description is a spoken description
of what can be seen on a screen or stage.
We offer audio description at these events:
- Opening Ceremony
- Athletics
- Swimming
- Gymnastics-Artistic
- Equestrian
- Football
- Basketball
- Beach Volleyball
- Volleyball
- Closing Ceremony

Important
We do not offer audio description in English.
Only in German.
Do you want to use audio description?
Then you need a small device.
You can get the device at the info point at each location.
Do you want to reserve the device in advance?
Then fill out the form:
The form is not in Easy Language.
This offer is, for example,
- for people who are blind.
- for people with visual impairments.
- for people who do not know a type of sport very well.
The audio description gives them more information
about the sport.
2. Sign Language
We also have sign language interpreters at these events:
- Opening Ceremony
- Athletics
- Swimming
- Special Olympics Festival
- Closing Ceremony

This offer is, for example,
- for people who are deaf.
- for people who are hard of hearing.
3. Speech-to-Text-Interpretating
At the Opening Ceremony we also offer
speech-to-text-interpretating.
This means:
The translators write down everything that is said.
For example, during the speeches.
The written text is then shown on a screen.
The audience can then read what is being said.
This offer is, for example,
- for people who are deaf.
- for people who are hard of hearing.
- for people who do not know German or English very well.
4. Sensory Backpacks
We also have sensory backpacks.
In the sensory backpacks there are different things.
For example, a massage ball or a hearing protection.
Some people do not feel well in certain situations.
For example, when it is very loud.
Then the sensory backpacks help.
5. Sunflower Logo
We are a member of the Sunflower network.
Some disabilities are not visible.
With the Sunflower logo one shows:
I have a disability.
Using the logo is voluntary.
That means:
Everyone decides for themselves
whether they want to wear the logo.
In our shop we have some products with the logo.
For example, wristbands.
6. Quiet and Prayer Rooms
At each event location we have a quiet and prayer room.
You can use the room to rest or to pray.
The rooms are accessible.
There are no obstacles for people in wheelchairs.
Do you want to use the room?
Then ask at the info point where the room is.
You can find more information in the visitors' handbook.
7. Wheelchairs
At every location,
we have reserved seats for people in wheelchairs.
And wheelchairs can also be loan at each location.
Do you want to reserve a wheelchair in advance?

8. Walkers
Do you use walkers?
Then you are welcome to take your walkers
to the locations.
Have you found a seat?
Then we will be happy to find a place to store the walkers.
But we will only do this if you want us to.
You can also carry the walkers with you.
9. Guide Dog
Do you have a guide dog?
Then you can bring your guide dog
with you to the locations.
10. Accessible Parking Spaces
We have accessible parking spaces at many venues.
Do you want to visit a particular venue?
Then please check beforehand
whether there are accessible parking spaces.
Do you have a parking permit for people with disabilities?
Do you want to reserve a parking space?

11. Simulation Glasses
You can also try special glasses.
These glasses are called: simulation glasses.
Through the glasses you learn
how people with visual impairment see their surroundings.
