We are getting more and more excited: It's only 250 days until the start of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023! We celebrate this day together with our international delegations and athletes, who tell us in a special video message what they are looking forward to the most.
On 17 June 2023, exactly 250 days from now, the Special Olympics World Games will start at the grand Opening Ceremony in Berlin's Olympic Stadium with thousands of people from all over the world, lots of emotions and colorful fireworks. We cannot wait to celebrate this special moment with all of you.
However, the excitement and anticipation is not only rising with us. Worldwide, more than 190 delegations are already preparing for their trip to Germany. And they are not only training hard in order to give their best in their respective sports, but also looking ahead to the unique experiences they will have in Berlin:
By the way: The delegations are accommodated in Host Towns all over Germany before the official start of the Special Olympics World Games.
The "Host Town Program" is the largest municipal inclusion project in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany: 216 Host Towns, 216 municipal projects welcome the delegations from all over the world - from 6 to 400 members - and thus enable a space for encounters far beyond the Berlin Games.
